This gorgeous and bizarre, hand built, carved top,, futuristic arch top was built in Nuremberg in 1958 by Arthur Strohmer. It not only plays extremely well it also has a very beautiful sound for an arch top. Only example ever recorded. Overall excellent condition with its original form fitting hard-shell case.
This extremely rare German Archtop guitar was sold by the renowned vintage guitar shop “Southside Guitars” in Brooklyn about 12 years ago for $3,950.
Arthur Strohmer opened his shop in Nurnberg in the early 20th century. Making violins and guitars. He continued in business with his sons into the early 60’s and afterward continued by his grandsons.
