Chinese porcelain vase in a beautiful celadon green designed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and dated 1994. The original 18th-century vase was inspired by Sung Dynasty (12th - 13th century) celadon-glazed stoneware. The simple shape provides an appropriate surface for the dynamic design done in relief, which features floral scrolls and a peony, a symbol of prosperity. The Museum's reproduction was produced in cooperation with the Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore. Porcelain. Stands approximately 7 1/2" tall. The vase has never been on display and is like New.
