For Sale: a very nice 1948 Singer model 128-23 Dome Top Portable Sewing Machine with foot pedal and locking case. The Serial Number AH452202 indicates that the manufacture year was 1948. The case is constructed of a solid oak base and an oak veneer removable hood. The dome hood has a lock that works and it comes with 2 keys. This machine appears to be working . Although the rubber belt is broken the motor runs when the foot pedal is depressed and the wheel turns freely with the needle moving up and down as it should. The AC cord was replaced at one time, but the foot pedal cord appears to be the original.
Note: This machine weighs over 30 lbs
Condition (see pictures):
This machine and case are in good vintage condition. It appears to be working only the drive belt is broken so I cannot confirm that it will actually sew. The base of the case is in good shape but I think it is missing the accessories cover. The Dome cover finish has worn off and it is missing a 3/4 inch strip of veneer just below the key (see Last pic) and the surface grain is a bit raised (probably from humidity). Look at the pictures and judge for yourself, this machine is in good condition for its age.
