Up-and-coming Entertainment website seeks Managing Editor At Large to spearhead our content development efforts! Our website’s goal is to encompass the culmination and cataloging of the World’s talents. Specifically concentrating on talent’s unique to teenagers across the world.
Candidate Description:
This is a key management position in which your creativity and initiative can shape the destiny of our website. With your supervision and guidance, we aspire to generate 1000’s of unique stories, videos, and photographs related to talents being performed around the world. Your job is to have an ongoing Talent Show online.
This role will manage the voice and tone of our sites and contributing to content development as well as overseeing any freelance staff and general creative oversight. Manage the planning, development, quality standards, and creation of new and existing content.
Job Duties Include:
- Management and showcasing of compelling content on our site
- Manage day-to-day operations of all content and images on all related websites, distribution partners, blogs, email communication and marketing efforts
- Blog and publicize the site through various channels to attract user-generated content
- Conceptualize and launch new content features that encourage consumer engagement with our websites and incorporate current web 2.0 features and functionality, such as interactivity and ratings and reviews, comments, etc...
- Build our network of subject matter “experts” to produce original, fresh and informative content according to content calendar
- Keep pulse of needs of our target audiences (teenagers) to ensure the best and most relevant offerings in terms of content quality, user experience and engagement
- Selecting the creative assets that comprise our site offerings as well as cultivating and managing a growing network of freelance writers and contributors
- Work closely with product team to roll out content management solutions
- Track usage and lead conversions. Conduct trend analysis and surveys in order to guide content and contest offerings

Salary / Compensation:
- $38,000 annual salary start, with a semi-annual review
- Bonus pay semi-annually commensurate with deadlines and traffic goals
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of editorial experience - online, magazine preferred related to the Fashion industry
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing/ Editing (Higher Education Level Preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in managing editorial teams and collaborating with Product Management and Marketing groups to launch new features and functionality
- Experience at high-traffic, content driven sites
- Proven ability and flexibility to operate in a market that is changing constantly and rapidly
- Thorough understanding of current teenage consumer tastes and available online content functionality
- An understanding of search engines and how content can be incorporated into websites to benefit search engine placement and optimization
- Exceptional and proven people management skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects and work with a high level of autonomy
- Good sense of humor, positive attitude, and proven track record of success and high achievement
